Mercy Dreams is the fifth level in Blasphemous. This page features a walkthrough of this area, including information on any collectibles you'll find including Cherubs, Prayers, Rosary Beads and more.

Mercy Dreams

As you first enter Mercy Dreams go down a flight of stairs, to the right. Here you'll see a door. When you enter, you'll see a giant statue, interact with the statue to be rid of Guilt.

Go back outside and follow the stairs down to the left, then the right. Climb down the ladder and you'll see two doors, one to the left and one to the right.

Take the Door to the Left

In here, you'll find a Prie Dieu statue where you can rest, save your game and refill your flasks.

Take the Door to the Right

In this section, you'll see a new type of enemy - one that holds a candelabra. Be careful here of the spikes that shoot up from the first platform, and make your way across.

Jump across from the second platform with the spikes, over to the platform above the ladder. Hit the wall on the right here, to reveal another enemy type and a collectible: Maxilla of Tarradus, the Cleric.

Climb down the ladder, then down again. Move across to the left of the room, and through the door. This will take you to underneath the area you were previously in, where you could go left to the Prie Dieu. Jump up to the ledge, on to the left, and then up and attack to raise the gate. This will create a shortcut back to the Prie Dieu, allowing you to rest and replenish.

Now go back and make your way down the stairs, to the left. Climb down the ladder, and go over to the door on the right. Jump over the platform with the spikes, to deal with the enemy with the candelabra and the new type of enemy, who can throw balls of magic.

Run over to the right, jumping to avoid any of the balls that are shot from the cannon in the wall.

Then climb down the ladder, avoiding the cannons in the wall here too.

At the bottom, you can go right or left.

Go Right

Go all the way to the right, open the chest to receive one of the Prayers - Seguiriga to your Eyes like Stars, which increases the speed of attacks.

As soon as you open the chest and pick up the Prayer, you'll be trapped in the room and three of the floating sorcerers will appear. Once you've dealt with those, you'll be able to return to the previous room.

Go Left

Take out the sorcerer, while also avoiding the cannon from the pit. Then jump over to deal with the enemy whipping themselves, and another new type of enemy floating on a throne.

Go up the ladder and you'll see a Cherub on the left-hand side. Use the ladder to jump over and attack it.

Then jump back onto the ladder, and take the platform to the right first. Go all the way across until you can see the platform with the item. Jump over and collect the Cervical Vertebra of Zicher, the Brewmaster.

Now go through the door on the left. First, jump up to the platform above you as soon as you enter the door. This will take you to another gate you can open, to create a shortcut and make your way back to the Prie Dieu.

Then go over to the platform on the far left, with the candelabra on it. Hit the wall here, to reveal a secret passage.

Go through, into a hidden room where you can collect the Small Bead of Red Wax, one of the Rosary Beads.

Leave the room and go down the ladder, where there are two more doors - one to the left and one to the right.

Go Through the Left Door

Here you'll be able to enter a marketplace where you can interact with a merchant called Candelaria and items on cabinets.

You'll be able to purchase two Rosary Beads and one Quest Item:

• The Key to the Chamber of the Eldest Brother - this will open the locked chamber that you came across after defeating the Warden of the Silent Sorrow. It coss 400 Tears of Atonement.
• Hollow Pearl - this creates fervour when destroying surrounding objects. It costs 1000 Tears of Atonement.
• Moss Preserved in Glass - this grants some protection against toxins. It costs 1500 Tears of Atonement.

It's a good idea here to purchase the Key to the Chamber of the Eldest Brother first and return to Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow to unlock the door that was previously locked. You can pick up one of the Relics here that will let you see ledges that were previously invisible. After this, you can make your way back through The Holy Line and pick up the Painted Wooden Bead along the way.

Go Through the Right Door

There will be multiple ways for you to go in here. You'll see two ladders, and two levels on the right.

You'll need to go down the ladder, to make your way up and around to the enemy you can see patrolling. Go across to the right, and take it slowly as you'll encounter a lot of enemies here, including the large floating ones in the thrones and the sorcerers throwing magic balls. When you get to the right edge, drop down onto the ledges below and over to the left. Take the ladder down and hit the wall on the left to reveal a secret passage.

Go through here and down the ladder to see a chamber filled with enemies. As soon as you make it all the way across to the left, to pick up the item, you'll be trapped and more enemies will spawn. Once you've defeated them, the gates will open and you'll be able to collect an Empty Bile Vessel.

Go back to the ladder, climb up and go right. Go down the ladder here that's just before the spikes. Run down the stairs to the right, then jump across the platform to meet Viridiana.

She'll offer to assist you with your next task, which you can choose to accept or decline.

When you agree to the offer, she will appear in the background of the fight - ensuring she cannot be attacked, but she will be able to toss out essential healing from time to time. However, across all bosses that she can help you fight, she'll diminish in power each time she assists you to take down a boss. Once she has helped you defeat three Bosses, she will be unable to assist you further, so choose carefully!

Head down to the left, and find a Prie Dieu at the bottom and two doors, one going left and one going right.

Take the Door on the Right

You'll enter a room with another door across the way and a ladder going down. Take the door on the right, to enter a room with a giant hand portal that allows you to fast travel to Albero.

Take the ladder down for a door on the left, two enemies at the bottom and a passage closed by a gate on the right with an item behind it. Go through the door on the left here, and you'll need to quickly slide and jump through to the left, avoiding the magic balls coming from the cannon in the wall. At the end of this room, you'll find the Pisiform of Hernandez, the Explorer.

Go back and up the ladder, then take the door to the left.

Take the Door on the Left

If you take the door to the left you'll begin the boss battle against Ten Piedad.

Fighting Ten Piedad

Ten Piedad will use a variety of moves to attack you:

• Spitting thorns that release toxins. These can be avoided by dashing, and once they land and turn into a ball of thorns, you can hit them to break them.
• Lunge attack that throws out thorns from the ground. You'll be able to zip by Ten Piedad to get behind it, when it lunges. But the thorns will follow you in the direction you go, so dash through enough to avoid them.

• Slap of the hand. When Ten Piedad throws its arm out to hit you, jump to avoid the attack.
• Slamming its fists down into the ground. This creates a shockwave of thorns that will extend to either side. You can dodge this, by dashing as far as you can away from Ten Piedad.

Defeating Ten Piedad will earn you the No Mercy achievement.

Go through the door to the left and you'll be transported to a dream where you'll receive the Holy Wound of Attrition, a mark left by the Golden Visage.

The door through to the left will take you through to the Desecrated Cistern where you'll see Deogracias and a Prie Dieu you can rest at.
