Intro
Kyln is the intergalactic inescapable prison for the most dangerous and notorious Marvel villains and at times, heroes. In Marvel Strike Force, Escape From Kyln is the variation of the Avengers Tower Mode where you battle through numerous Floors or Cells in this case. The higher you can get – the more rewards you will earn.
A special feature that distinguishes Escape From Kyln from Avengers Tower or S.W.O.R.D. Satellite is that you can only use 3-character squads in each Cell, due to it being a prison and having cramped and confined spaces, lore-wise. Gameplay-wise, it will be a good challenge and can allow you to stretch your theory-crafting, with some limitations of course. And as always, if for any reason you can’t do it yourself, we are here to provide you with the best character choices for each Cell and advice on how to clear them and get the most out of this new Tower Mode.
The third iteration of Kyln will be called Omega Assault and it will contain a total of 52 Cells (Floors), any player who’s Commander Level 60+ can participate. The Cells will be separated into different Cell Blocks, each Block will have a specific Trait requirement. Every Cell has a Milestone tied to it so after you clear each Cell you will earn some rewards.
Rewards will include:
- T3 Crystals, T3 Iso-8 Credits, and T3 L1 Ions
- Crimson and Teal Gear
- Gear Credits
- Gold
- Training Modules
- Guardian Shards, Red Stars, and Diamonds
- Revolution Orbs(required for the Main Event) andGolden Ciphersfor theOrchis Team Showcase.
Once the event goes live we will provide a more detailed breakdown of the rewards.
Prison Rules
- There’s no Cooldown period for characters after a battle.
- Health and Abilities persist between battles for players and enemies.
- Characters can’t be healed between battles.
- You’ll remain in the same Cell after losing a battle (not drop down).
- Restarting a run will drop you down to Floor 1, heal your characters, and reset your score.
- Completing a Cell earns a milestone reward.
The first rule allows you to use your characters as long as you want, provided they remain alive after each Cell. Under normal circumstances, this could have been overpowered but since Kyln has Trait Requirements for different Cell Blocks it evens things out a bit. Simply speaking, each character has only one life and you can’t heal or revive them between battles (only during).
All Ability Cooldowns and Health will persist between battles, similar to how the Raids work, so it will be important that you always manage your cooldowns when the fight is nearing the end.
Enemy health will also persist, this means that if you lose a fight but you manage to eliminate a few enemies that progress will be saved so your second attack will be easier. This can be used to your advantage by either sending a sacrifice team to eat the big attacks or by providing you a chance to beat the node in 3 or 4 attempts, depending on how many characters fit the Trait requirements.
If your run didn’t go as planned you can restart as many times as you like, but every restart will drop you to the first Cell so you’ll have to start from the beginning.
Another important tip, as each Cell requires a 3-character team make sure to always split them up in the squad select screen using the drag-and-drop feature. One character should be in the center while the other two should be in a corner, that will improve your survivability in general. Just long-press on the character and drag him to the spot you want to place him in.

Video Guide
We have a video guide available for the first 40 Kyln Cells, which you can find HERE
Part 2 is now live, featuring the walkthrough of Cells 41-52 HERE
Below we will provide you with the best 3-character teams or individual characters for each Cell.
Cell 1 – 4 (No Requirements)
As there are no requirements for this Cell Block you could use any team or characters that you want. Just take a quick look at the Cell Requirements and make sure that you won’t need the characters you use here anywhere else. Or you could use them anyway and just properly prepare your Cooldowns to get ready for some of the more challenging Cells, that is the best use for these Cells.
Cell 5 – 7 (Guardian or Infinity Watch)
By far the best choice for these Cells would be an Infinity Watch trio. You could use Adam Warlock, Gamora, and Nebula. Another option would be Adam Warlock, Moondragon, and Phyla-Vell. Generally, try to pair up Gamora with Nebula and Phyla with Moondragon since they work better in pairs, while Adam will apply Safeguard and Immunity to anyone of them.
That said, as these Cells are still fairly easy you could use Guardian characters too. Cosmo and Star-Lord (Annihilation) will be the better options for these Cells since they also possess the Guardian tag. Alternatively, you can also use Rocket and Groot together and as a third, you can take Drax or Mantis.
Cell 8 – 10 (Avenger)
This Cell Block is likely the biggest in terms of the character variety since the Avenger tag also includes Young Avengers/New Avengers/Wave-1 Avengers etc.
- Hank Pym, Iron Man, +1
- Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl
- Viv Vision, Vision, Deathlok
- Tigra, Mockingbird + (Ronin/Coulson/The Thing)
- Black Widow, Captain America + damage dealer (Thor, Thor (Infinity War), Iron Man, etc)
- Secret Avengers
Above you’ll find a few possible options but there are plenty more since there are more than 30 Avenger characters in the game. It’s important to note that it looks like this Cell Block will have enemies that focus on applying Negative effects so taking in a Healer or someone who can cleanse the debuffs may prove essential.
As one of the newest Avengers, Hank Pym will have the best stats and will be incredible here, we can also use iron Man since he is also an Illuminati member, same as Hank. As the last member, we can use any other Hero Avenger since Hank will be great at healing his Hero allies. Secret Avengers and/or Nick Fury could be used here or they could be saved for the next Cell Block since they fit the requirements there as well.
Cell 11 – 13 (Global Skill)
- Black Knight
- Secret Avengers
- Black Widow, Red Guardian, Yelena Belova
- Taskmaster, Killmonger, Nick Fury
- Nick Fury, Captain America (WW II), Bucky Barnes or Union Jack
Enemies here will have a good defense since we will be facing Rebirth and Infinity Watch, and only Cell 13 will be susceptible to Negative effects (if you eliminate Phoenix) since it will comprise of mutants. So Taskmaster can be left for the last Cell since his Ultimate attack can deal a lot of damage. The 11th and 12th Cells you can clear with the help of either Nick Fury or Secret Avengers.
There are also quite a few minions that fit the requirements so you could also use those as a sacrifice team.
Black Knight can practically solo these Cells, as long as you have him built up high. Since you won’t be able to use him anywhere else, he’ll be perfect here, just plug him in with 2 random characters and watch how enemies perish from his counters.
Cell 14 – 16 (City Mystic)
- Ghost Rider (Robbie), Cloak, Dagger
- Ghost Rider (Robbie), Mister Negative + 1 (for Cell 16)
This Cell Block will be the domain of Ghost Rider (Robbie) since he’s the best character to use here. Pair him up with Cloak and Dagger and it should be very easy to clear the first two Cells.
The only important thing to note is that Cell 16 will feature Doom, so make sure that Robbie has his Special ready to use when starting that Cell. That way, you can Ability Block Doom and eliminate him without any issues. You might also want to drop either Cloak or Dagger and take in Mister Negative because you will also need to Ability Block Squirrel Girl so that she doesn’t remove Ability Block from Doom, but if your team is overpowered, you will likely eliminate everyone with ease.
Cell 17 – 19 (Asgardian)
- Odin +2
- Vahl, Beta Ray Bill, Hela
- Thor, Mighty Thor, Valkyrie
- Vahl, Beta Ray Bill, Sylvie (Cell 19)
Vahl will be the star of this Cell Block. If you pair them up with Beta Ray Bill and another strong Asgardian they will handle the first two Cells with ease.
Cell 19 can pose a threat since it will feature Dormammu and Eternals. There are a couple of good options to go around that. First, if your Vahl is very strong you can prepare their Ultimate and use it at the start of the fight in Cell 19, that might damage your enemies enough or even outright eliminate some of them if you used or prepared Vahl for DD 6/7/8. It can also be good to use Vahl, Beta Ray Bill, and Sylvie in this Cell, Both Sylvie and Beta can Stun with their Special Abilities and that can be used to neutralize Eternals.
Alternatively you could use another Asgardian team as a sacrifice, just make sure that Eternals used their Ultimates and that Dormammu is not full health, that way he won’t apply Revive to everyone on your second attack.
Players who already unlocked Odin can plug him in here with any other 2 Asgardians, and he will solo these Cells. We won’t be able to use him elsewhere, so there is no need to prep his cooldowns.
Cell 20 – 22 (Spider-Verse Tech or Spider-Verse Skill at Gear Tier 15)
- Green Goblin (Classic), Doctor Octopus + Vulture/Kraven/Spider-Slayer/Black Cat
- Ghost-Spider, Spider-Man (Noir), Peter B. Parker
- Peni Parker, Spider-Man (Pavitr), Peter B. Parker
This Cell Block will be a perfect opportunity for your Superior Six characters. This is also the first time where you need to have your characters at a specific Gear Tier to proceed, so things will get only harder from here on out.
Spider-Society characters will easily handle these Cells, especially if you have them built up for Orchis raids or any of the Dark dimensions, but we will need them for one of the later Cell Blocks, so make sure to prepare their cooldowns before you finish Cell 22. Alternatively, you can use Superior Six characters (Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Kraven, etc) if you don’t want to worry about the cooldowns.
Cell 20 will be very easy if your Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus meet the requirements, you can use almost any other Sinister or Superior character as a third (Mysterio, Vulture, Shocker, Spider-Slayer. Kraven). The second cell can also be easy as long as you manage to neutralize enemy Spider-Weaver before they take a turn. To achieve that you can either use Doc Oc, Green Goblin, and Vulture, or just use Black Cat. Black Cat will take her turn before Weaver and Stun her, while Vulture will apply Slow to them on Spawn because of his Passive that triggers when he has 2 Superior Six allies, Doc Oc and Green Goblin in this case. Same team can be used for Cell 21.
Cell 22 will be trickier since we’ll be facing Darkhold. You could use Green Goblin, Doc Oc, and Black Cat, and if they are strong enough they will be able to handle this Cell, but it is important to keep in mind that all of these characters are Legendary and you may need them for later so make sure you manage their cooldowns so that the abilities are ready to use. Using a sacrifice team before using your main one may also be a good idea for this Cell.
Cell 23 – 24 (Global Mystic at Gear Tier 15)
- Captain Britain, Black Panther (Shuri), +1 (Ares, Weaver, Doom, etc)
- Absorbing Man, Quicksilver, Doctor Doom or Scarlet Witch
- Agatha Harkness, Wong, Morgan Le Fay
- Spider-Weaver, Doctor Doom, Quicksilver
- Black Panther, Black Panther (1MM), M’Baku/Starbrand
Cell 23 will only feature a few Invaders and other S.H.I.E.L.D. characters so it shouldn’t be a big challenge, if your Black Panther is strong enough he might take advantage of all the minions and clear the Cell, otherwise you can use other teams, just make sure to save Agatha’s Ultimate for Cell 24 and Quicksilver’s Special for Cell 25
Cell 24 will feature Eternals and the Knowhere characters but instead of Star-Lord, they will have Silver Surfer. Agatha, Wong, and Morgan can be a great option here. Agatha’s Ultimate is tailored toward neutralizing Eternals and while they are stunned you can focus on eliminating Knowhere, go for Cosmo first.
Captain Britain and Black Panther (Shuri) are some of the newest Global Mystic characters. Their kits and stats are very good, and they will be able to handle these Cells with ease. As the third member, you can use Ares, also a new Global Mystic character.
There are also a few other characters that can be used as a sacrifice here, like Elsa Bloodstone, Doctor Voodoo and Juggernaut, if you have them at GT15.
Cell 25 (Global Mystic at Gear Tier 16)
- Captain Britain, Black Panther (Shuri) +1
- Spider-Weaver, Doctor Doom, Quicksilver
- Agatha Harkness, Wong, Morgan Le Fay
Any teams that you used in Cells 23-24 can also be used here, they will just need to be at Gear Tier 16 now. This Cell can be particularly challenging as it will feature the full Gamma team, as well as Kang, Moonstone, and Absorbing Man.
If your Quicksilver and Doom are strong enough you might be able to clear this node using only them. For that, your Doom needs to survive Red Hulk’s Special but he also needs to fall below 50% Health, which will allow him to take the next turn and use his Ultimate. This will grant 300% Speed Bar to Quicksilver, which will allow him to take 6 (yes, six) turns. During those six turns, Quicksilver can remove Taunt from Absorbing with his Basic attack, attack Red Hulk with his Special to remove all Charged, attack him a few more times until he is dead, and then focus on Kang. This might take a few tries to set up correctly so use the retreat button if it doesnt line up perfectly.
If that won’t be enough to clear the Cell in 1 attempt you could always try using a sacrifice team prior to attacking, or you could try to finish the Cell with Morgan, Agatha, and Wong.
Captain Britain and Black Panther (Shuri) can also do well here as they have a lot of controlling abilities and can handle these enemies easily.
Cell 26 – 28 (Villain Mutant at Gear Tier 16)
- Apocalypse, Archangel, + 1
The core of your Offense for this Cell Block will be Apocalypse, you won’t be able to use him anywhere else so you can go all out, just make sure to manage cooldowns between Cells.
Next to Apocalypse, you can use Archangel to have a Speed Bar advantage, and as a 3rd you can pick Dark Beast, Magneto, Nemesis, Daken, or Emma Frost. If your Apocalypse has any Diamonds, this will be a walk in the park.
Cell 26 will be fairly simple. You will be facing New Avengers and Pegasus characters. Once Apocalypse uses his Ultimate you can eliminate Tigra if she’s still alive and Taunting, or focus on Kestrel, after that you can slowly clear out everyone else and prepare the cooldowns for the next Cell. With a Big Apoc, you can clear this Cell by using only his Special and Basic attacks and you can save his Ultimate for the next Cell.
Cell 27 will have the X-Treme X-Men team plus Rogue and Collosus. This one can be a bit tricky since Nightcrawler will fill the Speed Bar of them all early in the match, so a good idea would be to use a sacrifice team here. but if your Apoc is massive and you’ll have his Ultimate ready you can take them out in one attempt, just make sure to not get stuck behind Rogue’s Taunt and to get rid of Gambit soon, so that he doesn’t attack you too much.
Cell 28 will have Dormammu, Morgan Le Fay, Agatha, Wong, and Ghost Rider (Robbie) with Photon. The combo of Apocalypse’s Ultimate attack and Archangel’s Speed Bar rewind should provide you enough advantage here to be able to clear this Cell. Make sure to use Apoc’s Awakened Basic attack on Morgan, if Dormammu is still alive you can Ability Block him with Dark Beast and after that eliminate him and Robbie quickly.
Cell 29 (Hero Tech at Gear Tier 16)
- Kestrel, Iron Man (Infinity War)/Darkhawk, Rescue
- Kestrel, Hank Pym, Guardian
Kestrel with P.E.G.A.S.U.S. or Hank Pym will be the best characters to use here and in the next Cell Block. While you could also use Viv Vision, Vision and Hulkbuster, or Deathlok it’s unlikely that many players have them at GT16 and they simply might not survive long enough to beat this Cell since it will feature Ghost Rider (Robbie), Ms. Marvel (Hard Light), Mister Negative and Kingpin plus a few others.
Kestrel, Rescue, and Iron Man (Infinity War) combo is the best bet here. Kestrel will block summons and then can use her Ultimate to remove Taunt from Ms. Marvel, and after that, Iron Man and Kestrel together can deal enough damage to clear the Cell. To make things easier, you can send in a sacrifice team if you have a lot of spare GT16 Hero Tech characters. You could also replace either Rescue or Iron Man with Hank Pym. Hank has incredible support and will keep healing his Hero allies, so if your team is strong, you might not need Rescue’s support and can replace her.
Alternatively, you could also just use Kestrel, Hank Pym, and Guardian, if they are overpowered they will easily clear these Cells.
Cell 30 – 31 (Hero Tech at Gear Tier 17)
- Kestrel, Iron Man (Infinity War)/Darkhawk, Rescue
- Kestrel, Hank Pym, Guardian
Cell 30 will feature a mix of Asgardian and Bifrost characters. The most dangerous one would be Vahl, and after that, the focus should switch to Valkyrie. Once both are gone, the task will be simpler. Kestrel is the core and is essential, while Iron Man and Rescue seem like the best fit to go with Kestrel, Iron Man for his Speed Up for Pegasus allies, Ability Block and Damage, and Rescue for Support and a Revive just in case. Ironheart (MK II) can be a good 4th option to swap out someone in case you need a Stun. This Cell won’t be easy for PEGASUS, and sending a sacrifice team in first might be a good option, but you must ensure that they live long enough for Vahl to waste the Ultimate Ability.
Cell 31 will feature the full Superior Six team, as well as Rhino, Vulture, and Shocker. You can use Kestrel and Rescue here, and as the third option, you can pick any of the remaining PEGASUS characters. If they are GT18, they will be able to clear this Cell without any major problems, especially if Kestrel is massive and/or has Diamonds.
Kestrel with Hank Pym and Guardian is a great alternative combination that can be used for both of these Cells, Kestrel will provide a lot of damage, while Hank Pym’s support will keep the team alive. Guardian has an early Stun, which can be useful, and his damage output will also be great. Fair warning: you might need Guardian in one of the later Cell Blocks, so you can either use him here and prep his Cooldowns or avoid him and use a PEGASUS character instead.
Cell 32 – 34 (X-Men at Gear Tier 17)
- Old Man Logan, Nightcrawler, +1
- Nightcrawler, Gambit, Rogue or Cyclops
- Nightcrawler, Gambit, Forge
- Rogue, Dazzler, Gambit or Sunfire
Old Man Logan can essentially clear this Cell Block on his own if he is built up high enough, and if you pair him up with Nightcrawler, it’ll be even easier. Logan is also a Legendary, so before you finish the last Cell make sure you have his Cooldowns prepared to start the next section with a bang.
Cell 32 will feature Red Hulk, Abomination, and Brawn with Marauders and Emma Frost. Nightcrawler can be immensely valuable for this Cell Block because he will be the first to take a turn and will fill the Speed Bar of all X-Men allies. So if you have Nightcrawler at GT17 already you’re in luck. When using Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Rogue it is possible to one-shot this Cell. There is no Hulk here, so Red Hulk won’t have Safeguard and Immunity on Spawn, which means that you can Stun or Ability Block him out of the gate. Next, you’ll have to Ability Block Brawn and eliminate Emma Frost before she clears the debuffs, once that is done you can focus on Red Hulk and then on preparing your cooldowns for the next Cell.
Cell 33 will feature a mix of Weapon X and Masters of Evil characters, Ultron, Wolverine, and Sabretooth are not here. Using the same 3 characters, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Rogue, you will have to start with Nightcrawler’s Special on Kang to Stun him. After that, you can use Rogue to Ability Block or Stun Omega Red. And Gambit to start dealing damage to adjacent targets Once Omega and Kang are gone you can start preparing the cooldowns for the next Cell.
Cell 34 will feature Apocalypse, 4 Death Seed characters (no Magneto), Morgan Le Fay, and Scarlet Witch. Apocalypse in this cell is not Awakened and will start with his Special Ability first. He also won’t have a lot of health, so it is possible to eliminate him before he takes his first turn if you have a big enough Gambit and Nightcrawler. There are a lot of Mutant characters that can be used as a sacrifice team so the only issue is having them at the right Gear Tier and if you decide to go the sac route, make sure that Apoc wastes his Special and Ultimate abilities.
Now, if your sac attack went smoothly, when using your main team your goal would be to wait for Apoc to take his first turn and after that to use Rogue’s Special on him and eliminate him. You could also just apply Ability Block to him with Gambit and use Rogue’s Special on someone else. Once Apoc is gone, focus on Morgan and Archangel. This is the last Cell where you can use mutants so you can go all out, although if your Rogue is GT18 you might want to ensure that she stays alive because she can be useful in the next Cell Block.
You can also win with a one-shot. Start by clearing out Archangel, Dark Beast, and the others, ignore Apocalypse at first but save Rogue’s Special Ability. Once Apocalypse uses his Ultimate and eliminates someone with his Awakened Basic attack (as long as he didn’t kill Rogue), you can use Rogue’s Special on him. If he killed Rogue just restart the Cell. After that, Rogue and whoever is left alive will be able to clear the other enemies. Stun or Ability Block Morgan.
Cell 35 – 37 (Legendary at Gear Tier 18)
- Old Man Logan, Red Hulk/Black Cat +1
- Red Hulk, Omega Red + 1(Cell 35)
- Nova, Rogue, Nick Fury (Cell 36)
- Morgan Le Fay, Nick Fury, Black Cat (Cell 37)
This is the first Cell Block that requires you to have GT 18 characters, so most of the players will have a limited amount of characters they can use here.
When Kyln first came out, we didn’t have Old Man Logan, so this Cell Block posed some challenges. But with Logan, especially if you have him at 7 Yellow and at least 5 Red Stars, clearing this will be easy enough. A good idea would be to have a fast character paired with Logan so that Logan ends up Assisting more often. Alternatively, you can also use Nick Fury and summon the minions to have more Assists from Logan. Either way, the key will be managing Logan’s cooldowns. Make sure to have his Ultimate ready at the start of each new Cell, and you will be set to win after that.
For Cell 35 you can start by using Red Hulk’s Special on Rogue, and then stunning her with Logan’s Special. Once Nightcrawler drops you can use Logan’s Ultimate and then switch to basic attacks to finish off the enemies and prepare your cooldowns.
Cell 36 has a similar start – Special with Red Hulk on Goblin, then Stun Goblin with Logan. Once Black Cat drops you can Ult with Logan to clear all her positive effects and then work on other characters and prepare your cooldowns.
Cell 37, you can start with Logan’s Ultimate. If you have Black Cat or Nova, Stun Quicksilver and they focus on eliminating him and Hela. Later, Vahl will drop, and once we deal with them, the last wave will have Spider Weaver, but this time Logan should be able to Stun again, so use his Special on Weaver before she gains her Charged. This is the last Cell for Legendaries, so we don’t need to worry about cooldowns.
If you do not have Logan or he is not yet GT18 and you can’t upgrade him in time, you can also use the strategy that worked for us in the previous Kyln iterations:
Cell 35 will feature Nightcrawler, Rogue, Gambit, Cyclops, and a few other X-Men characters. The go-to team here would be Red Hulk and Omega Red. And as a third, we can use Archangel. The goal is to Ability Block Rogue with Omega Red. Since Omega will also apply Trauma Phoenix or Beast won’t be able to clear the Ability Block. Phoenix, Rogue, and Colossus will also gain Taunt if someone drops below 50% Health, stopping you from focusing on Rogue. Try to remove Colossus’s Taunt with Archangel or outright kill him before Nightcrawler drops, once he spawns use Red Hulk’s Special to clear his Evades and then Ability Block him with Omega Red. Around this point, Red Hulk will have 5 Charged and you can use his Ultimate to brute force the rest of the fight.
Alternatively, you can clear this Cell using Green Goblin, Doc Oc, and a third. You will still need some control so Omega Red or Nova will be good.
Cell 36 will feature Green Goblin (Classic), Black Cat, Ghost Rider (Robbie), Ms. Marvel (Hard Light), Lizard, Kraven and Spider-Slayer.
Even though there is Lizard here, he spawns with the second wave, so you can still use Green Goblin Classic with Doc Oc here. As a third, you can take Nova or Red Hulk. Start with Goblin’s Ult and then use Nova’s or Red Hulk’s Special on Green Goblin. Combined, the damage from those 2 abilities might be enough to clear the first wave (Robbie, Goblin, and Hard Light). Once the second wave drops, Lizard will take a turn and clear your buffs, he’ll also gain a Taunt. But once your Green Goblin takes his turn you can use his Special to clear all of the buffs from Lizard. After that, you can work on eliminating the others. If you use Nova, you can try restarting the Cell as many times as it takes for Black Cat to target Nova, on Spawn he will gain 1 Charged and while Charged he has a massive Resistance Boost so it’s likely that Black Cat won’t land her Stun or other debuffs).
Cell 37 will feature Zombie Iron Man, Zombie Juggernaut, Hela, Quicksilver, Vahl, Spider-Weaver, Spider-Man 2099, and Loki (Teen). A team that has a good chance to clear this node in a one-shot is Black Cat, Nick Fury, and Red Hulk. Fury will go first and can summon minions, which will take the first few attacks from Quicksilver. Red Hulk with his Basic can clear Taunt from Juggernaut, which allows Black Cat to Stun Hela and with some luck, Black Cat will chain between the Undying and will leave them low health. On Black Cat’s second turn, you can remove all Charged from Quicksilver with her Ult. (once he drops below 50% Max Health he’ll gain another Charge but after that, he won’t be as dangerous) The focus needs to be on eliminating Hela first, then taking care of Zombies and QS, once Weaver drops, use Black Cat’s Special again to Stun Weaver. You can set up Fury as a Raider and place him next to Black Cat, that way he’ll generate energy for her whenever he Crits
Alternatively, you can just use Red Hulk, Morgan, and Nova, and brute force your way through the Cell. The only issue might be with setting up Red Hulk to use his Ultimate but after a few resets, this should work, especially if Nova has his Ultimate ready. Morgan with her Ultimate should neutralize Hela, after that try to eliminate her and the Zombies. Once Red Hulk Ults it’ll be easy to finish up.
Cell 38 – 40 (Villain Bio or Undying at Gear Tier 18)
- Super Skrull, Gorr, Gladiator
- Super Skrull +2
- Gorr, Gladiator, +1
Initially, this Cell Block was strictly the Super Skrull’s domain; all other Villain Bio characters we had at that time were insufficient. While that is still partially the case, we can use Annihilator characters this time, mainly Gorr and Gladiator. They will be able to clear the first 2 Cells, but you might need some clean-ups or a sac attack on the first Cell.
But the last Cell will still require Super Skrull if you want to easily clear it, and it is even better if you have all of Skrulls cooldowns prepared, so the ideal combination for this Cell Block is Super Skrull with Gorr and Gladiator
In terms of other characters to use alongside Skrull (if you don’t have Gladiator and Gorr at GT18), it solely depends on who you have. Moonstone and Titania could be good if you want to have Ability Block and Stun in your arsenal, you could also use either Zombie Iron Man or Zombie Juggs with Hela and Skrull. Lizard and Rhino can take a few hits and do some damage, Lizard can also Ability Block Support characters. Red Goblin with either Carnage or Venom will also be great here, so pick who you have.
Cell 38 will feature Apocalypse and all 4 Horsemen, as well as Agatha, Brawn, and Nemesis.
The best play is to start by using Skrull’s Special on Apocalypse. It will apply Exposed to him, which will prevent Apoc from gaining Safeguard once he uses his Special Ability. This will allow you to stop him before he does his Ultimate. After that, you can eliminate everyone else just by using Skrull’s Basic and Special abilities, make sure to manage Skrull’s cooldowns so that he can start the next node with his Special and have Ult at the ready.
Ideally, you want to have Skrull as a Striker, one ally needs to be a Healer, and the third either a Raider or Skirmisher. After Skrull’s Special on Apocalypse, the Raider/Skirmisher character needs to apply Vulnerable to Apocalypse. That will allow Super Skrull to eliminate Apoc with his Basic attack. After that, the other Horsemen will Spawn. We’d want to save Skrull’s Ultimate if possible, but that may be a luxury because it increases the chances that you will lose his allies. If you have other Villain Bio characters ready for the next node, then no problem. Otherwise, you can Ult with Skrull once all Horsemen drop, just save his Special for the next node.
Cell 39 will feature Black Cat, Ghost Rider (Robbie), Ms. Marvel (Hard Light), Photon, Vahl, Beta Ray Bill, Spider-Weaver, and Spider-Man 2099.
Having Lizard will be beneficial for this Cell since he will take his turn before Ms.Marvel and can clear all Deathproofs from Black Cat, which will make her less dangerous and will allow Skrull to rewind the SD characters with his Special. Having someone who can apply Ability Block or Stun to Ms.Marvel will make it easier since you won’t have to worry about her Taunt, but ultimately that can be easily cleared with Skrull’s Basic so it won’t affect the result of the battle. Try to eliminate Black Cat and Photon before the second wave drops. After that focus on Robbie and Vahl, don’t allow Vahl to use their Ultimate Ability, and have a Stun or Ability Block ready for Weaver when she drops. Even if you can’t control them, the damage from Super Skrull should be enough to clear the Cell. If possible, save Skrull’s Ult for the next Cell, but definitely make sure you have his Special ready.
Cell 40 will feature Super Skrull, Deathpool, Kestrel, Kang, Nova, Black Cat, and Apocalypse.
Cell 40 will start with a showdown between Super Skrulls. Enemy Super Skrull can apply Ability Block because he will Spawn with 2 Heroes, and depending on who you Spawn with, enemy Skrull might get the first turn. If that happens, you can’t allow him to use his Special on your Skrull so it’s best to restart the Cell until enemy Skrull targets someone else. Once that happens, use your Skrull’s Special and target the enemy Skrull. If possible, you can also Stun Kestrel with Abomination or Moonstone. After that, you need to eliminate the enemy Skrull first but avoid using the Ultimate Ability of your Skrull. You can also have your Skrull set up as a Striker and the other 2 characters you use as Raiders or Skirmishers. If you apply a bunch of Vulnerable effects to enemy Skrull, your Skrull will be able to finish him off with his Basic attacks because of the follow-up Iso attack.
Once the second wave drops, you can either use Skrull’s Ultimate Ability immediately or rewind Kang first with his Special. If you have more than the standard 4 Red Stars on Skrull, his Ult could eliminate Kang and only Black Cat and Nova will be left. Finishing the fight will be easy, even if Nova manages to apply his Battlefield Effect.
Cell 41-43 (Spider-Verse Skill at Gear Tier 18)
- Black Cat, Ghost-Spider, Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man (Pavitr)
- Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, Spider-Man (Pavitr)
For the best results, you will need to use the next Spider-Society characters – Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, and Spider-Man (Pavitr). Spider-Society is widely used in Raids and all other game modes, they are also farmable now, so most players should have them unlocked and built up fairly high, meaning that this Cell Block won’t pose a challenge.
Cell 41 will feature all 3 Cabal members and Moonstone as part of the first wave as well as Absorbing Man, Abomination, and Kang.
It is possible to clear this Cell without the newer Spider-Society characters but it won’t be easy and will require a lot of resets to get the best RNG. You will need to control Iron Patriot and Namor and prevent them from using their abilities. Ghost-Spider and Kraven can help here because their Specials apply Ability Block. While with Black Cat you will need to Stun Leader and focus on eliminating him first. Once Leader is gone you will need to remove Taunt from Absorbing Man, so having a Skirmisher might be useful, or you could use Black Cat’s Ultimate. When Kang drops, focus on him.
If you’re using Peni, Peter B, and Pav, you can easily outlast all enemies since the healing Pav will provide will be tremendously effective. You can focus on eliminating Iron Patriot and Namor first and then Kang once he drops.
Cell 42 will feature Black Knight, Ghost Rider (Robbie), Cosmic Ghost Rider, Red Hulk, and Starbrand as the first wave with Silver Surfer, Photon, Black Cat, and Captain America dropping in later.
For this Cell, you will need Peni Parker, Peter B. Parker, and Spider-Man (Pavitr) as other teams won’t have the same success here. Black Knight is a lot weaker than normal, he only has 2 Charged on Spawn, and his retaliation attacks do not apply Trauma or Heal Block. This allows the new Spiders to cleanse those negative effects. A good way to start would be with Peter B. Parker’s Ultimate because that will apply Immunity to your team. After that, Peni plays a pivotal role since she can Stun Robbie with her Ult, and then Stun Black Knight with her Special. At that point, you can focus on eliminating Robbie and Black Knight first and then attack the others. It’s also important that Peni is a Striker. That way you can get your ability energy back faster if you keep attacking targets that have Vulnerable.
You will need to make sure that Red Hulk doesn’t get 5 Charged, so either eliminate him quickly or stun him. Then slowly work on eliminating the other targets and preparing the abilities for the next Cell.
Cell 43 will feature Doctor Octopus, Kraven, Rhino, Spider-Slayer, Red Goblin, and Green Goblin (Classic) as part of the first wave, with Lizard and Vulture as the second wave.
The same team that cleared the previous Cell will be able to clear this Cell – Peni, Peter B, and Pavitr.
Green Goblin will Spawn right after everyone else and just before you take your first turn. That allows Pavitr’s Passive to still apply Vulnerable effects to everyone. From that point on, your task is to Stun Green Goblin and prevent him from taking a turn, eliminating him and Red Goblin first. After that Vulture and Lizard will Spawn, they will be the next priority targets because Lizard could clear all your Positive effects and Vulture can be a nuisance by applying Slow or rewinding you. At this point, you can go all out because the next Cells have a different requirement.
Cell 44-46 (Cabal or Underworld at Gear Tier 18)
Underworld won’t be very useful here, and will only be good either for a sac attack or a clean-up. Cabal, on the other hand, can clear these Cells, and if you have them maxed because you used them for Dark Dimensions, it should be fairly easy to clear this Cell Block. The best Iso comp for this stage will be having Iron Patriot as a Skirmisher, while Namor and The Leader are Strikers.
Cell 44 will feature Lizard, Hela, and Iron Man (Zombie) as the first wave, once 2 of them are down Morbius and Doctor Voodoo will spawn, and the last wave will include Zombie Juggernaut, Ghost Rider (Robbie) and Green Goblin (Classic).
You need to start with Iron Patriot’s Special to remove the positive effects and Taunt from Lizard. Be mindful of your Cooldowns, using Ultimate Abilities may be unnecessary because the targets only Spawn after someone dies so you won’t be overwhelmed. Stick to using Basic Abilities, or Namor’s Special. The priority target is Hela first, then you can take care of the others easily. Once the last wave drops you’ll need to eliminate Green Goblin first and then Ghost Rider quickly.
If your team is maxed out, you can easily start with Iron Patriot’s Special and then just Basic through the rest of the fight.
Cell 45 will feature Red Hulk, Green Goblin (Classic), Nova, and Korg as the first wave, with Archangel, Rogue, and Apocalypse as the second wave. Nemesis and Dark Beast will be the last 2 characters to Spawn.
To successfully clear this Cell you need to take down Nova before he uses his Ultimate because otherwise, it will be much harder for you to beat Apocalypse once he drops. You could try to just get through the initial attacks from Green Goblin, Nova, and Red Hulk and then use The Leader’s Special to take down Nova, if your team is maxed out that should work. Alternatively, you can use Underworld as a sac team. Take in Taskmaster with Mister Negative and Kingpin or Nobu, the main goal would be to survive until Nova wastes his Ult. And to avoid eliminating anyone since that’ll trigger the second wave to spawn.
After you complete the sac attack, head in with Cabal and eliminate Green Goblin first, once Apocalypse Spawns you can try to go one of 2 ways. The first one is to overwhelm him, he doesn’t have a lot of Health and your Cabal might be able to eliminate him before he takes his first or second turn. Namor’s Ult will help since it can rewind and will deal a lot of damage. The Leader’s Special will also call an assist from his allies. Together, that just might be enough. The second way is to outlast Apocalypse’s first and second turn. He will use his Ultimate on his second turn but he won’t do the awakened basic attack immediately, there will be a small window of opportunity where you can rewind him with Namor’s Ultimate and eliminate him fast. Once Apoc is gone, you will need to eliminate Red Hulk and Archangel. Rogue can also be an issue here with her Taunt so it might be worth it to Stun her with Iron Patriot’s Ultimate. After Apocalypse is gone make sure to manage your cooldowns because you will need to have your abilities ready for the last Cell.
Cell 46 will feature 4 Hive-Mind characters (without Carnage) as the first wave. Black Cat will drop in after someone dies, and the third wave will include Ms. Marvel (Hard Light), Cosmo, and Carnage.
The first one to eliminate is Red Goblin, start with Iron Patriot’s Special to remove their positive effects and then focus on Red Goblin. After he’s gone, Black Cat will drop. You can flip her Immunity with Skirmisher’s attacks, then Stun her with Iron Patriot’s Ultimate, and then focus on eliminating the other Hive-Mind characters before Carnage spawns. At this point, you can go all out and there’s no need to manage your cooldowns.
Cell 47-49 (Orchis or Alpha Flight at Gear Tier 18)
- Scientist Supreme, Lady Deathstrike, Sentinel (Cells 47-49)
Using the free-to-play Orchis trio might be enough to clear these sections – Scientist Supreme, Lady Deathstrike, and Sentinel. (Iso-8: Scientist Supreme – Skirmisher, Lady Deathstrike – Striker, Sentinel – Striker/Raider) Even a 3 Star Sentinel will be useful here, but Scientist Supreme and Lady Deathstrike need to be at high stars or even Diamonds.
That said, some Alpha Flight combinations can also be very useful – Sasquatch, Guardian, and Northstar might be a great option for some of the Cells, or at least a potent sacrifice team/clean-up team.
Cell 47 Always start the battle using Scientist Supreme’s Ultimate (target Forge), which will apply Slow to all enemies. Then, you can use Lady Deathstrike’s Special on the left side of the battlefield, targeting Forge. If Lady Deathstrike is big enough (preferably 1-2 Diamonds), her Special will delete Forge, but if she’s Striker, you’ll have her follow-up attack as a backup. Once Forge is defeated, you can focus on Sunspot, and then Noirs, at that point, focus on your cooldowns.
Cell 48 Is a fairly easy Cell, the main focus needs to be on taking out Ghost Riders and Cosmic Ghost Riders first and after that we can start preparing the cooldowns for the next Cell.
Cell 49 Start with Supreme’s Ultimate ability. This will force Kangs to take the next turns. They will use their Specials and take out the Sentinel bot, as well as hit one of your Orchis characters, but the damage won’t be significant. After that, Lady Deathstrike will take her turn – use her Special targeting Cloak. The splash damage, as well as Bleeds she might apply, can eliminate both Kangs immediately, and LDS will take another turn before Kangs do, so you should have enough damage to kill them, but even if they survived and end up using their Ultimates, you can still keep going, as long as no one dies. If someone did die from Kang Ults – restart the node as Kang’s Ultimates prevent revives so Scientist Supreme won’t bring your allies back. Once Kangs are defeated, focus on Iron Patriot and then take out everyone else while also preparing your cooldowns for the next Cell.
If Kangs give you too much trouble, you can use a burn attack here using Alpha Flight, just make sure that Kangs use their Ultimates.
Cell 50-52 (Orchis or Annihilators at Gear Tier 19)
- Scientist Supreme (Healer/Skirmisher), Lady Deathstrike (Striker/Raider), Sentinel (Striker/Raider)
- Thanos (Endgame) (Striker/Raider), Ultimus (Striker/Raider), Gladiator (Fortifier/Healer)
Initially, our assumption was that Annihilators would be the best option for these Cells, but due to the enemies we face, Orchis ends up being a much better option, although both teams can still persevere.
Cell 50 When using Annihilators (Thanos, Ultimus, Gladiator) start the battle with Thanos’s Special on Hank Pym, then try to eliminate him with Ultimus’s Ultimate. Once Hank is gone, the second target is Sersi, as we do not want her to be alive when Ikaris drops. If Thanos applied Exposed to Hank, he would have generated Ability Energy after, so he may have his Special ready again – use that on Sersi and then slowly eliminate her and Black Panther (Shuri). Once the last wave drops, focus on taking out Ms. Marvel Hard Light and then Black Bolts. Make sure to save your cooldowns, specifically you will need Thanos’s and Ultimus’s Ultimates at the start of the next Cell.
You can save Gladiator’s Ultimate for when someone is getting low on Health, if Gladiator is still above 50% he will gain Taunt and will take the damage instead. If Gladiator is below 50% you can use his Special to gain Safeguard and Regeneration. Additionally, if you find yourself needing more healing, you can switch Gladiator to Healer Iso-8.
With Orchis, the battle is also simple: focus on Sersi with Lady Deathstrike special at first, then work on the same priority targets – Hank, Sersi, Shuri… Then prepare your cooldowns for the next Cell
Cell 51 With Annihilators (for this Cell, Thanos, Ultimus, and Gorr are the best options, but you could also use Gladiator instead of Gorr). If you’re using Gorr, start the battle with his Special on Left Rogue. Then the other Rogue will use her Special and Taunt, and after that use Ultimus’s Ultimate on Taunting Rogue to clear Evades and then Thanos’s Ultimate to clear her positive effects. Then, focus on eliminating both Rogues and Archangels. Save Gorr’s Ultimate for the last wave when Black Knights drop
With Orchis, start as usual, Scientist Supreme’s Ultimate. Then, you can use LDS Ultimate to take out Rogue and Archangel on one of the sides. After that, you might get stuck behind the second Rogue’s Taunt for a bit, but it’ll be a good opportunity to eliminate the second Archangel. Once that is done, you can save LDS’s Special for after the last wave with Black Knights drops, and once they do, LDS can eliminate them fairly quickly. After that prepare your cooldowns for the last Cell.
Cell 52 With Annihilators (back to Thanos, Ultimus, and Gladiator). Start by using Thanos’s Special on Cosmic Ghost Rider, then rewind enemy Nova with Gladiator’s Ultimate and use Ultimus’s Basic on Nova to clear the Charged from him. If Ultimus’s Basic is maxed, he will Mind Control an enemy to hit Nova, which should deal enough damage to clear Nova’s Charged. After that, eliminate Nova before he takes a turn. Your Thanos and Ultius should take their turns first, so you should have enough damage output to do so. Once Nova is out, finish eliminating Cosmic Ghost Rider. When the next wave drops, focus on Ghost Rider and Iron Patriots. At this point you can go all out.
With Orchis – Start with Scientist Supreme’s Ultimate, then Lady Deathstrike’s Special on Nova. Supreme will apply Vulnerable to Nova if she’s a Skirmisher. And Lady Deathstrike, as a Striker, can exploit that. Alternatively, if your LDS has at least 2 Diamonds, you can target Cosmic Ghost Rider, and Nova might die from the adjacency damage. After that, focus on Cosmic Ghost Rider and then on Iron Patriots when they drop. At this point, you can go all out, so it’s likely that LDS’s Ultimate will clear half of the remaining enemies.
Conclusion
While some of these Cells may sound simple on paper, they are fairly hard to do. You either need to have very strong characters or a tremendous amount of luck. Sometimes, you need both. The new iteration of Kyln, Omega Assault, is the first one to require Gear Tier 19 to complete it, but lately, we started earning more Crimson Gear so even free-to-play players should find it easy to meet those requirements, especially since we need to equip it on a valuable Arena and/or Raid teams.
